What Printers are compatible with Data2Printer?
Any Leibinger printer in the Jet2 series or newer
What data sources are compatible with Data2Printer
software?
Currently it is compatible with SQL Server, Microsoft Excel/Access,
print formatted XML Files, and User created local databases of the users own
design. We are always adding sources, so
please check if you have an unlisted source.
We may even develop the option for your application!
What types of applications is Data2Printer used for?
Common applications include printing on cable, wire, tubing,
pipe, monofilament line, siding, etc.
However, the applications are truly unlimited.
Can Data2Printer
work with variable data such as date codes or graphics?
Yes, the user can define data within the print field as a
special variable field and can even define the designator right in the software.
The variable fields currently included are Dates, Counters, Graphics/Logos,
Prompts and User Defined substitutions.
We are always adding variable data options, so please check if you have
an unlisted variable. We may even
develop the option for your application!
How does the operator choose the record they need to
print?
Typically, the Data2Printer software runs on a PC near the
printer(s) and the operator can select the record by typing it, selecting it
from a list of all records or scan a barcode of the record like on a work
order. If a standard PC on the sounds like trouble, we can provide small,
fanless mini-PC that does not require a keyboard, mouse or monitor as long as
you are using a barcode reader.
How many printers can Data2Printer be connected to?
Up to 255, but typically, there’s only one printer per
instance of the software.
How is variable data designated in the data source?
Variable data must be between a start and end designator. For instance {Date1} could be setup to send a
mm/dd/yyyy date within the print job.
The “{“ and “}” characters are the start/stop designators, “Date1” is
the date variable name and “mm/dd/yyyy” is the format defined in the reference
table. All of the above is user-defined
for maximum flexibility.
What format graphics or logo files are compatible with
Data2Printer software?
Data2Printer can handle .jpg, .bmp, .png and .gif
images. However, the images must be
sized correctly in the reference folder.
